June 2011 Artists on Display
In the Display Case
On the Wall
Florence DiGennaro
I am very honored to be showcasing my artwork at the New Hartford Library. This opportunity could not have arrived at a better time. Most of the artwork featured was completed within the past year. I have on display over 30 works, ranging from photography to drawings and digital imagery. These mediums I wish to expand within my business Artistic Moments.
I received guidance from my Managing Director, Jovita Bernard of the Academy of Performing & Creative Arts. Artistic Moments grew from the idea in September of 2010 to a professionally registered business of today.
I also teach art classes and private lessons at the Academy of Performing & Creative Arts. Subjects comprise of Illustrations, Graphic Design, Character Design, Portfolio Development, and Street Art/Graffiti. It has been a wonderful experience teaching in this area. Fresh out of my college graduation in 2005, I did not continue to create artwork and as the years passed I felt I had lost the drive in my talent. I began teaching in January of 2010, and from this my artwork began to flourish and my drive to express myself in this form. Since then I have gained a deeper understanding of techniques and artistic style.
My photography has developed since the purchase of my DSLR in the fall of 2009. I enjoy the control of digital photography and the manipulation within programs. Outside of the current works featured here, I am also developing a self-portrait series and wish to expand on photography featuring animals at the humane societies.
My artwork and projects continue to grow, in which I sometimes feel there is not enough time in the day to achieve what I wish. In this is a good thing, always working and aspiring towards a goal that will lead to further development. I hope that everyone can find this within themselves.
See these and more at the Library.
