Formed in 1982
Purpose of the Friends of the New Hartford Public Library
To promote a knowledge of the Library in terms of its functions, resources and services.
To foster an interest in the use of the Library's services by all ages and interest groups.
To raise funds to assist the Library in administering its affairs.
To foster a favorable climate for support for the Library in the Town of New Hartford.

Meetings
Annual meeting with the election of officers is held in January and monthly meetings (except in the summer months) are held in the library. Notices of time and dates of meetings are posted in the library.
Friends Services
Proceeds from the Ice Cream Social benefit the Joshua Turner Fund which supports the Children's Room.
Friends volunteer in the Library on a regular basis and help with special Library functions
Services may include helping with mailings, providing baked goods from time to time and seasonal decorating
A mitten tree, with donated, hand-made mittens and hats, is filled for needy area children at Christmas time.
Dues: $5.00 for Individuals/$8.00 for a Family Membership.
